Biography
Jeff Haley is a multi-instrumentalist from Richmond, Virginia who has performed all across the globe in various bands (Wild Nothing, Walter TV, Hoop Dreams). 2022 brings ‘Forgotten Exposures’ to light – the third full length release from Haley – who remains a constant in Wild Nothing’s live band. This new album is a collection of songs culled from dozens of home recordings spanning 2017-2022. Picking up where 2017’s ‘From Upstairs’ left off, Haley touches on personal relationships, home life, political turmoil, and our collective state of impending doom without taking us fully into the darkness we can easily find ourselves in. ‘Forgotten Exposures’ sees Haley leveling up in terms of songwriting and production, while still giving us the “rough around the edges” appeal that drew us in with his early work on ‘Home Alone.’
The tracks on Jeff’s 2016 debut album ‘Home Alone’ were primarily written and recorded in the basement of his former home in Portland, OR, nicknamed the "Milk House." This album is his first solo endeavor, the manifestations of his time alone in the Pacific Northwest. It was released on April 29th 2016 by Furious Hooves digitally worldwide, as well as on limited edition cassette with a second pressing in 2018. ‘Home Alone’ was also included on GoldFlakePaint’s “Essential Tapes of 2016” list.
Haley quickly delivered his sophomore album ‘From Upstairs’ in 2017 after moving up (literally) from the basement of album one to a new upstairs apartment in album two. Also recorded in Portland, ‘From Upstairs’ explores everything from the current heated political atmosphere to the mundane of everyday normal life. It was released on September 15th 2017 by Furious Hooves digitally worldwide, as well as on limited edition cassette.
