Biography

Wet Socks is a fuzzy garage-rock duo from Savannah, GA and currently based in NYC. Since 2012, they have refined their sound to a verbed out proto-punk groove. They'll be sure to get you out of your seat and on your feet. On September 23rd 2014, Furious Hooves released a split EP between Savannah garage rockers Wet Socks & Sauna Heat. Leave your studded leather jacket at the door, this ain't no Ty Segall show. We're wearing denim for this cassette's arrival... ‘Double Denim.’ Sauna Heat bring the rock 'n' cruise on one side while Wet Socks unleash a nihilistic, fuck-it-all energy on the other. Three groovy scorchers to distract the fact that you smell like stale beer and you haven't washed your hair in three weeks. With each song ripping homage to the Cramps and the Stooges, Wet Socks brings the fever–the boogie fever.

Bio written by Michael Younker.

In 2014, Wet Socks released their debut full-length ‘Drips’ on Retro Futurist Records, the now defunct label started by members of Kylesa. ‘Drips’ features a newly recorded version of “Library Card” which originally appeared on the ‘Double Denim’ Split EP. Hunter and John talked about the band, writing process, various shows in Savannah, and more in an interview with Stereo Embers Magazine back in 2014.
