Furhoof Halloween Split Series
Halloween is a magical time. A time when kids would get together to create costumes, collect goodies, watch horror movies, trade candy, and jump out from behind trees and scare the living daylight out of you… For Furious Hooves' co-dude Ryan McCardle it was also a nostalgic time – with black and white monster movies on the TV, and crunchy autumn leaves on the ground, and those spider cobwebs hung up around the house. At the time, McCardle had been living in Savannah, GA and the tales of spooky ghosts and creepy graveyards were aplenty. Why not start a collaborative series inspired by Halloween and the month of October itself, among the artists on this newly formed label? So they did one split, and they haven’t stopped since.
The Furhoof Halloween Split Series gets multiple artists together to build upon a theme of Halloween and October. However, where they start and how involved with each other is entirely up to them. Start with the name of the split, work together, work separately, create art. The process will change from release to release, but it will always stay with Halloween.
